The Jordan Applied University College of Hospitality and Tourism Education (JAU) organized a "Recruitment Day" on Wednesday 19 May 2010 and an "Open Day" on Thursday 20/5/2010 to celebrate the occasion of "Independence Day". Both events took place at its premises in Jabal Amman.

On the Recruitment Day, we invited industry representatives from 5 and 4 star hotels, restaurants, tourism operators and Royal Jordanian. This gave the representatives the opportunity to meet our students, who are working towards a B.A. in either Hotel or Tourism Management, a Diploma in Hotel Management, a Certificate in Food Production or a Certificate in Tour Guiding.

This occasion allowed them to recruit students not only as full time staff, but also for casual work over the summer period. All attendees were impressed by our students, their achievements, their knowledge and their level of English and by the developments at JAU.

The Open Day was held the next day. It was a fabulous day; all the students participated in the games and enjoyed the delicious food and beverages. The table setting competition, the food production competition and the cocktail show were outstanding and creative. All attendees and sponsors were highly impressed with the event.
